BERNIE (Sheep Skin Linings)

I wanted a pair of shoes that are "easy" to put on and that will provide good all day standing and walking comfort. I also wanted BERNIE to be wearable in several daily situations : walking the dog, at the office, going to the pub, walking around the city.
BERNIE shoes will last a long long time (see care suggestions page) - I just love shoes which get better over time, the leather will develop a pleasing patina, the whole shoe will forming to the shape of my feet. All of the materials are natural (no synthetic) with outer full grain* leather from Italy and linings in sheep skin fur. Your feet won't overheat (if overly concerned opt for the version with calf leather linings?) as these natural materials allow heat to dissipate via the natural pores.
The sole ? There's a full length leather midsole which is cemented (glued) and stitched to the rubber commando outer sole. IMPORTANT : the rubber outer sole and heel can be replaced at your local shoe repair shop once worn out. If you don't have a repair shop then contact us via this web site and I'll arrange for re-soling (cost €150.00)

*Full grain : the skin is integral (its not split into two layers) and tanned according to EU regulations (see page "Why Leather" on this website).
